Having BRCA (BReast CAncer) mutations is associated with a higher risk of developing breast cancer. Testing for BRCA mutations, commonly known as the “breast cancer gene,” is particularly important for individuals who have a personal or family history of certain cancers like ovarian, prostate, or pancreatic cancer. BRCA testing as soon as possible is also important for patients that have been diagnosed with breast cancer, in order to help support treatment decisions in breast cancer. #BreastCanc
