“We are men and we’re taught to do it yourself and do it on your own, but ultimately, we need help as well.” After his daughter was born, Sheldon Smith launched The Dovetail Project. He was just 21 years old. The organization has supported more than 500 young Black and Latino dads through its fatherhood curriculum.
